Nyla Rosen, Ed.D. directs the Institute for Community Leadership’s Jack Hunter O’Dell Education Center in Kent, Washington. Dr. Rosen carries out classes and professional development for educators and students in the areas of civic education, equity in education, Dr. King’s Nonviolence, and environmental sustainability. She coordinates cultural and community events, and facility development. Dr. Rosen has presented at national conferences and seminars on equity in education, Kingian Nonviolence, civic education, and environmental sustainability. Dr. Rosen completed academic research in Latin American and a post graduate internship at the Institute for Community Leadership in Kingian Nonviolence and Democracy Education. She is the recipient of the Brown University Scholarship for foreign research and study. She received her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Change, Fielding Graduate University, 2014; B.A. in Ethnic Studies and Africana Studies, Brown University, 2003.
