2019 Martin Luther King Jr. Day at the State Capital

The Institute for Community Leadership students’ Keila Veliz and Firdowza Isse gives keynote addresses to the Washington State House of Representatives as it convenes a floor session to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day (HR4602) at the state capitol. After intensive weeks of studying Dr. King in Institute classes, students provided Dr. King speeches and presentations to conferences, legislative bodies, Dr. King rallies, and school assemblies. In total, Institute students and staff from Washington State presented to over 4,000 people on Monday, Dr. King’s 90th birthday.
